Cuyahoga Falls Worker Named September, 2018 Long-Term Care “Hero”

The state’s largest organization representing long-term care facilities has honored a Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio dietary worker as its September 2018 “Hero of Long-Term Care.”

Pamela Moore, dietary coordinator at Altercare of Cuyahoga Falls, has been selected by the Ohio Health Care Association (OHCA) as its Hero of Long-Term Care for September 2018. OHCA honors one long-term care employee each month for their service to long-term caregivers, residents and the community.
Moore will be featured on the OHCA website ( during the month of September, and will be recognized at the Association’s 2019 Annual Convention in Columbus, Ohio.

Haleigh Niece, LNHA, Licensed Nursing Home Administrator at Altercare, says that Moore is passionate about serving the facility’s residents and the community.

"Pam has donned many hats, and began as an STNA (State Tested Nurse Aide) working on the floor, taking care of our treasured residents,” said Niece. She moved to the housekeeping department and became head of housekeeping, and was later asked to take over the dietary department in 2015.

“Many people cannot say that they have been working in the same field, let alone the same location, for 40 successful years,” Niece added. “Pam can say that proudly, and even more impressively her workplace has become her home; the staff and residents are now her loving family.”

The facility has handwritten notes from residents and their families dating back to the early 1980’s commending Moore’s gracious, welcoming and encompassing personality, and how she made those individuals feel comfortable with the care they and their loved ones received.

Her co-workers respect her and work hard for her to ensure that residents of Altercare of Cuyahoga Falls are provided the best environment possible. Moore continues to maintain a stable department, with happy employees who thrive under her leadership.
“Pam’s dedication, loving spirit and undying passion for her residents and traits to admire, and to be recognized,” said Niece. “We are proud to call her our Hero of Long Term Care!”
