Ohio Will Continue to be Gray for Positivity. This morning, the Health Department sent out an Enhanced Information Dissemination and Collection system (EIDC) notice with a letter from the Directors of Health and Aging to Ohio SNF administrators attached. The letter explains that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention changed COVID-19 test positivity data reporting and that Ohio has not yet finished implementing this change.

The upshot is all Ohio counties again will show as gray on this coming Monday's Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) positivity table. In the letter, the Directors express hope that the following week (the week of April 26), Ohio will be reporting properly, which would bring back the normal color scheme.

Importantly, the letter answers the most common question about gray status by stating, "[u]ntil that time, Ohio nursing homes should refer to their county’s most recently published test positivity classification for the period ending March 30, 2021." This confirms the advice OHCA provided to members over the past week, when there were questions about using the percentages CMS published last week despite coloring Ohio gray.
