The Affordable Care Act Section 6121 & CMS Interpretive Guidelines: The Cliff Notes, Checklists and Tools

This session will provide a summary of the expectations outlined in the CMS/Department of Health & Human Services memorandum; Ref: S&C: 16-04-NH, issued November 27, 2015 offering 'Focused Dementia Care Survey Tools.' The legislation passed in 2010 required improvement in care delivery specifically focused on patients suffering from cognitive impairment. CMS partnered with a coalition of health care organizations and professionals to design and develop core educational material for use in this initiative. This session revoews a summary of the new expectations and will provide sample tools to use for compliance with the three focus areas of expectation.
