Managing Behaviors: Therapy Works. Actual Case Studies

Level: Intermediate

Residents exhibit and express themselves with behaviors for numerous reasons. It can be a form of communication that the interdisciplinary team, including therapists, need to understand. This session will explore behaviors that are exhibited for reasons that include: dementia, anti-psychotic utilization reduction efforts, and the reduction of alarms. Actual case studies will showcase how interventions discovered and implemented by therapists offer successful solutions. The discussion will include how therapy is able to problem solve and work with nursing on realistic solutions.
