Toledo Environmental Services Director Named June 2017 Long-Term Care “Hero”

The state’s largest organization representing long-term care facilities has honored a Toledo, Ohio Environmental Services Director as its June 2017 “Hero of Long-Term Care.”

Timothy Moore, Environmental Services Director at Foundation Park Alzheimer’s Care Center, Toledo, Ohio, has been selected by the Ohio Health Care Association (OHCA) as its Hero of Long-Term Care for June 2017. OHCA honors one long-term care employee each month for their service to long-term caregivers, residents and the community.

Moore will be featured on the OHCA website (www.ohca.org) during the month of June, and will be recognized at the Association’s 2018 Annual Convention in Columbus, Ohio.

Jason Bennett, Licensed Nursing Home Administrator at Foundation Park, says that Moore is passionate about serving the facility’s residents and the community.

"Staff, residents and their families can count on Tim anytime day or night,” said Bennett. “He is always trying to find ways to make Foundation Park a safer place for our residents, which isn’t an easy job when you have a facility that care for 125 individuals with Alzheimer’s or dementia.”

Moore has been employed with Foundation Park for more than 28 years, and has nearly 35 years of experience in health care. “Tim has worked at Foundation Park since before the doors opened, and has overseen three refurbishings of the facility,” said Marla Hawkins, Admissions & Marketing Director. “I have seen the love and understanding he gives to the residents and our staff . . . he is never too busy to help anyone.”

In addition to his work at Foundation Park, Moore is active in the community and with charities, delivering Mobile Meals to area seniors and participating in the Alzheimer’s Walk.

Moore is responsible for the housekeeping, maintenance and laundry departments, and when talking to his staff, they have all said he is an understanding supervisor who works alongside them to ensure the job is done correctly. “He will take his time to explain when someone has trouble understanding . . .he has a way to make everyone feel important no matter what their job is,” said Hawkins. “He always goes beyond the call of duty,” she added.

Moore was nominated for this award as he has always been a reliable, dedicated employee, said Bennett. “Tim is truly our Hero of Long Term Care!”
