Silverchair Learning Systems Components
The Silverchair system consists of two distinct components—an employee training component and a management/administration component (LMS).
The employee training component consists of more than 75 courses that are all designed for front line workers and provides a complete curriculum of in-services required by CMS and OSHA. Silverchair offers core curriculums for both nursing facilities and assisted living communities. The courses are written on a 6th - 8th grade reading level. They run on a computer in both a text and audio format, with bi-lingual English/Spanish capabilities with a push of a button. When employees log onto the computer they can see the list of courses they are required to complete. And the pre and post-test features help to not only ensure comprehension of the subject matter, but also give the administrator the opportunity to permit "testing out" of certain courses.
The management/administration component is the learning management system (LMS) – which actually is the course assignment engine that permits you to automatically schedule and assign training courses based on a facility, department, hire date, etc. The LMS allows you to schedule both online and offline courses so you can more easily manage your organization’s entire staff development process. Most importantly perhaps is the management reporting feature that allows you to easily view the status of each completed, coming due, or overdue course assignment and report on the historical training of your employees. A great tool for use during survey, corporate compliance auditing and plans of correction.
