Advocacy Day Event at Statehouse Draws Crowd, Legislators, Media
More than 700 long-term care professionals and residents gathered at the Statehouse in Columbus yesterday for the Skilled Nursing Care Coalition's (SNCC) Advocacy Day event. Spilling onto the South lawn from the Statehouse Atrium, the crowd heard rousing presentations from caregivers, long-term care leaders and a series of legislators who proclaimed the need to ensure fair funding for skilled care. Taking the podium representing caregivers were Wayne Hill, SNCC Spokesman; Jerry Schroer, Altercare, OHCA President; Robin Hillier, RLH Consulting, OHCA Past President; Shane Craycraft, Garden Manor, OHCA Board Member; Steve Rosedale, CommuniCare Health Services; Martha Kutik, Jennings Center for Older Adults; Craig Nelson, Eastland Career Center; and Stephanie McNeal, RN; The Ridge at Shawnee. Legislators addressing the crowd were Senators Keith Faber (R-Celina), Thomas Patton (R-Strongsville), and Jason Wilson (D-Bridgeport); and Representatives Barbara Sears (R-Sylv! ania), and Matt Szollosi (D-Oregon). Special thanks to all the members who contributed to the successful showing and strong presence that SNCC was able to display at the event!
