AHCA Analyzing Economic Stimulus Payment Impact PDF Print E-mail
AHCA Analyzing Economic Stimulus Payment Impact
This May, more than 130 million American households are expected to receive economic stimulus payments—essentially tax rebate checks—as a result of the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008. Though the government has provided basic information about these tax rebate checks in terms of who qualifies for this one-time "tax rebate" and how to obtain a stimulus check, we anticipate that residents and/or family members may have more specific questions about how this benefit affects long term care residents who do not normally file taxes, the impact on Medicaid eligibility, allowable income, and other detailed questions. AHCA is analyzing this issue and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
