Proposed Medicare Cuts Would Cost Ohio SNFs
President Bush’s proposals to eliminate the SNF market basket adjustment and the regulatory change to case-mix adjustments would result in a reduction of Medicare reimbursement to Ohio SNFs totaling approximately $100 million in FY 2009, or an average rate reduction of $18.31 per diem (see related article under National News). According to AHCA’s calculations, this puts Ohio very close to the national average of $18.45 per diem.  OHCA encourages members to support AHCA’s legislative efforts to eliminate these provisions from the budget by informing your member of Congress of the impact of this cut on your ability to provide quality care to patients.
