Employee Tax Credit Services The Ohio Health Care Association is proud to have a partnership with SimTax—a company that specializes in obtaining employee tax credits for the nursing homes and assisted living profession. SimTax was established in 1993 to help companies of all sizes benefit from the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) and the Welfare to Work Tax Credit (WTW) programs. Each new hire provides an employer the opportunity to earn up to a $2,400 credit if the employee is certified for WOTC, and up to an $8,500 credit if the employee is certified for WTW. These are dollar for dollar credits, rather than deductions, so the money saved would otherwise be paid to the federal government. Our goal in working with SimTax is to provide our members with valuable, efficient, cost-effective administrative services necessary to reduce their federal tax liability. We are proud to say that through this partnership, SimTax has helped reduce our member’s tax liability by more than $5 million dollars. The great thing about working with SimTax is that 99% of all the work to obtain the tax credit is done by SimTax. A simple Pre-Screening Notice (Form 8850-PSN) takes less than 2 minutes for each new hire to complete, then a brief 1-2 minute phone interview between the hiring manager and SimTax sets everything in motion.
