Group Purchasing The Ohio Health Care Association is proud to introduce members to our partnership with Innovatix, the largest alternate care group purchasing organization in the country. With more than 12-years experience and $23 billion in purchasing power, Innovatix delivers savings, rebates, and other marketplace efficiencies in pharmaceuticals, medical and surgical supplies, food service, equipment, fractionated blood products, laboratory services and office supplies. The OHCA/Innovatix partnership was created for Association members to access the highest quality, most comprehensive portfolio of contracts in the market, at the best possible prices. The Innovatix GPO program is somewhat different than many other GPOs in that their contracts are end-user manufacturer agreements and you can access those agreements through nearly any authorized distributor of your choice. What that means to you is simply, no hidden costs and the flexibility to negotiate distributor services and margins that meet your business needs. There are more than 1200 manufacturer contracts that exist within the Innovatix portfolio. Some of the more popular ones include contracts with 3M, Arjo, Briggs, Cintas, ConvaTec, EcoLabs, First Quality, Fed-Ex, Georgia Pacific, Hill-Rom, Johnson & Johnson, KCI, Kimberly Clark, Nestle, Office Depot/Office Max, Ross, Smith & Nephew, Trane, Tyco Healthcare, and W.W. Grainger. Food, as all long-term care providers know, is clearly one of our highest expenditure items. With Innovatix, members can participate in the same food-purchasing program as the largest healthcare and hospital systems in the country. Through an exclusive relationship with US Foodservice nationwide, members can be part of over $1.25 billion in purchasing volume, which yields immediate savings of 12% to 15% or even more. The OHCA/Innovatix partnership was also created to bring about regional enhancements to existing contracts in the Innovatix portfolio as well as create new contracts just for OHCA members. We are happy to announce our first OHCA enhancement in the Nestle Nutritional contract with Innovatix. The Nestle contract offers three tiers of aggressive pricing based on a facility’s commitment and yearly spend on enterals. The highest, most aggressive pricing tier—tier 3—is reserved for facilities who commit 85% of their enteral purchase to Nestle and spend $100,000 or more annually. Nestle has agreed to offer OHCA members the opportunity to access tier 3 pricing no matter how much they spend annually on enterals. While all Nestle pricing tiers within the Innovatix portfolio offer great savings, this particular OHCA contract enhancement offers even greater opportunities to our smaller, independent operators who otherwise would not be in a position to access this excellent pricing.
