Scholarship Opportunities
Education is the key to career advancement, and you can finance yours with the help of a scholarship from the Educational Foundation of the Ohio Health Care Association (EFOHCA). The Ohio Health Care Association (OHCA) established its Educational Foundation in 1989 with the primary mission of encouraging careers in long-term health care. EFOHCA scholarships are available for any course necessary for obtaining a certificate, baccalaureate or postgraduate degree required for a career in long-term health care. To qualify, applicants must verify they have worked for at least one year for a member facility of OHCA or the Ohio Centers for Assisted Living, OHCA's assisted living affiliate. Employment with an OHCA Associate Member also qualifies. Family members of qualified employees are also encouraged to apply. Since its inception in 1989, EFOHCA has awarded more than 430 scholarships totalling more than $550,000. You too can take advantage of this opportunity, thanks to your employer and the Educational Foundation of OHCA. Please note that completed scholarship applications are due each year by January 2, with the winners announced during the Ohio Health Care Association and Ohio Centers for Assisted Living Annual Convention & Exhibition held every Spring. Scholarships are awarded in the amount of $4,000 and $2,500, and are based on the applicants' history and financial need. Please get your copy of the EFOHCA Scholarship Application here. |
