National
Nursing Home Quality Care Collaborative
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) national Nursing Home
Quality Care Collaborative continues to move forward, and Ohio KePRO has issued
a new
bulletin in coordination with the Learning and Action Network (LAN). All
nursing facilities are eligible to participate in this collaborative, designed
to ensure that nursing facility residents receive the highest quality of care.
Specifically, the Quality Care Collaborative will strive to instill quality and
performance improvement practices, eliminate healthcare-acquired conditions
(HACs), and dramatically improve resident satisfaction. As “Phase 2” of the
nursing facility quality improvement efforts coordinated by Ohio KePRO, the
Collaborative offers opportunities to learn from other facilities regarding
their processes as they pertain to resident safety, clinical outcomes,
prevention, culture, and staffing. OHCA is actively involved in the LAN, and
urges members to participate. Details and a participation agreement are
available in the bulletin.
