Coury Elected 2012-2013 OHCA President During his inaugural speech to the members of the Association, Coury said that he planned to focus OHCA’s efforts on advocating for the estimated 1,708,370 lives touched every day by long-term care providers in Ohio. “My commitment to you over the next year is to continue our effort to stop the erosion of resources which make a difference to those 1.7 million lives,” Coury said. “My request of you is to continue to provide the quality, efficient, and innovative services we are known for,” he added. Coury also stated that he and his family are in this profession to make a positive difference in the lives of our elderly, and those with disabilities. “I know I am not alone in that passion,” he said. “If so, I would be speaking to an empty room. Your presence here tonight is evidence you share in that passion.” In addition, to his service to his business and OHCA, Coury has served nine years on the Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators, chairing its Education Committee. He currently serves on the Assisted Living Exam Development and Review committee of the National Association of Boards of Examiners in Long Term Care (NAB). Coury also is a member of the Older Adult Ministry of St. Mary of the Falls parish where his organization sponsors the Parish Nurse program. He is a resident of Olmsted Falls, a Cleveland suburb, where he lives with his wife Diane and their three children.
