OHCA/OCAL/OCDD Names Professional Achievement Award Winners

The Association's yearly awards program recognizes a wide range of long-term care facility personnel. Ohio’s long-term care employees make up a large, important and valuable resource, and are the backbone of service to the LTC community, with facilities relying on dedicated teamwork and skills to provide quality care and compassion to patients and families. The Professional Achievement Awards are designed to honor those individuals who have excelled in providing outstanding care in a cooperative spirit of teamwork. Awards presented during the 2012 OHCA Convention at a special Awards Luncheon ceremony on May 3 were:

• Executive Director of the Year -- Sandra Warner, Executive Director -- Kentridge at Golden Pond Assisted Living

• Department Manager of the Year -- Mike Baker, Facility Maintenance Supervisor -- Villa Georgetown

• Independent Practitioner of the Year -- Dr. Donald Pohlman, Medical Director -- Versailles Health Care Center

• Nurse of the Year -- Jessie Hess, LPN -- Piqua Manor

• STNA of the Year -- Lonnie Richardson, STNA -- Altercare of Nobles Pond

• STNA of the Year -- Helen Lamb, STNA -- Country Lawn Center for Rehab and Nursing

• Activity Services Professional of the Year -- Michelle Scholles, Activity Director -- Hennis Care Center

• Environmental Services Professional of the Year -- Dana Marting, Housekeeper -- Alois Alzheimer Center

• Dietary Services Professional of the Year -- Robert Burnside, Food Service Supervisor -- St. Catherine's Manor of Findlay

• Rehabilitation Services Professional of the Year -- Gary Frounfelker, Physical Therapy Assistant -- Villa St. Joseph

• Support Services Professional of the Year -- Maryanne Dover, Secretary -- Willow Haven Care Center

• Adult Volunteer of the Year -- Tom Hlavin -- New Aveneus to Independence
