AHCA Driving
for Quality RV Tour Visits Ohio Facilities
The AHCA/NCAL Driving for Quality Care RV Tour continues to
travel
across the country, and stopped on Tuesday, July 20 at Liberty
Retirement
Community of Middletown for its second Ohio stop. During the event OHCA
and
Liberty Health Care President Linda Black-Kurek discussed the need for
emegency
federal Medicaid relief which is stalled in Washington, D.C., and the
need for
Ohio's congressional delegation to push for an extension of this vital
aid.
Ohio Senator Gary Cates (R-West Chester) also made an appearance at the
event,
providing a personal account for his recognition of the need for
long-term care
services. A large contingent of staff and residents participated in the
event
and signed the petition. The tour stopped last week at Hennis Care
Centre in
Dover, Ohio. Accounts on both visits are available at the OHCA
Facebook
page. Driving for Quality Care is a nationwide petition tour and
grassroots initiative to urge President Obama, the United States
Congress and
America's Governors to take immediate steps to preserve and protect
funding for
America's long term and rehabilitative care services. This effort
stresses how
essential adequate funding of Medicaid and Medicare are to ensuring
seniors’
access to quality care and maintaining much-needed healthcare jobs
across the
country. For more information and to sign the petition, please go to Driving
for
Quality.
