Nominations for Senior Citizens Hall of Fame
The Ohio Department of Aging (ODA) has issued a call for nominations for
outstanding older individuals to be inducted into the Ohio Senior
Citizens Hall
of Fame. The hall honors Ohioans age 60 and older for their
extraordinary
achievements and contributions. Individuals and organizations interested
in
nominating a neighbor, colleague, family member or friend may do so online.
The department will accept nominations through July 31, 2010. Honorees
will be
inducted to the Hall of Fame in the spring of 2011. Nominees must be age
60 or
older and be native-born Ohioans or a resident of the state for at least
10
years. Posthumous nominations will be accepted. Self-nominations are not
accepted. Nominees will be evaluated on the impact of their current
contributions, or a continuation of contributions begun before age 60,
in a
variety of areas of endeavor. Those selected will join more than 350
older
Ohioans who set examples by leading active and positive lives not
defined by
age or barriers, and who demonstrate significant contributions to their
communities. To learn more, visit the ODA
Hall
of Fame website.
